11.11.2020 – Velocity Risk Underwriters, LLC, will be discontinuing their HO-3 product in Connecticut effective January 1, 2021, for new business and February 1, 2021, for renewals. Agents may continue to bind Connecticut policies in the system until December 31, 2020, at 5:00 PM ET. A list of active policies will be provided by Velocity by December 1 to each Agency. Keep an eye out for this notice from Velocity if you are an agency that has active HO3 policies in CT. This product line change in CT does not affect other states agents may be accessing and writing. 11.10.2020 – Openly is now available in KY and OH! Their HO3, HO5 and Landlord products are now available in 6 states and they continue to expand this year. WI, IN and SC are all expected to be available before the end of the year.

11.10.2020 – Next Insurance has lifted the moratorium placed on 10/28 due to Hurricane Zeta. This moratorium affected their property products (including Inland Marine and Commercial Auto due to Physical Damage coverage) in AL, GA, LA, and MS. However, due to Hurricane Eta, Florida will continue under a moratorium binding all Next property products in Florida.
10.28.20 – Next Insurance Moratorium: Due to Hurricane Zeta approaching, we need to implement a moratorium on binding all Property products (including Inland Marine and Commercial Auto due to Physical Damage coverage).
This will affect Inland Marine and Commercial Auto in AL, FL, GA, LA, and MS. The moratorium will go into effect today (10/28) and will be in place until the storm associated increase in risk has passed.
Hurricane Laura caused many carriers to issue moratoriums in TX, LA and up the East coast the last week of August. All were lifted within a couple days and open for quoting & binding again.
