Valero Texas Open Benefit for Children Golf Classic 2015

The Valero Texas Open is widely known for their many charitable fundraising efforts. This year, First Connect was proud to be one of the sponsors of the 2015 Valero Texas Open. In the months leading up to the Valero Texas Open, there are two main fundraising programs that are focused on. The Birdies for Charity fundraising program is designed to give participating charities and schools the opportunity to generate contributions through the Valero Texas Open. Birdies for Charity is a no-cost program that gives 100% of the funds raised back to the participating organizations. The funds are generated by soliciting pledges from individuals and corporations for every “birdie” made throughout the Open.

In addition to Birdies for Charity, the Valero Texas Open, is designed to focus on improving the lives of children nationwide through the Valero Texas Open Benefit for Children Golf Classic. The Benefit for Children Golf Classic started as a small golf tournament to benefit a San Antonio charity. It has since grown into a nationwide project coupled with the Valero Energy Foundation and has proudly delivered millions of dollars to children’s charities across the United States since the Valero’s title sponsorship began in 2002. The Valero Texas Open’s mission has always been about the children and together with the generosity of their sponsors, have distributed funding to children’s charities in the communities where Valero has major operations. The result is a network of strong, well-supported agencies with the means to help thousands of disadvantaged, abused and neglected children. First Connect Insurance along with The Valero Texas Open Benefit for Children Golf Classic is proud to partner with these agencies to make a lasting difference in children’s lives.

Austin Pets Alive 4th No-Kill Anniversary Event

It’s no secret that all of us at First Connect have a soft spot in our hearts for our 4 legged family members. We have partnered with Austin Pets Alive and were one of the sponsors for their 4th No-Kill Anniversary event. The event took place this past Sunday at The Palm Door on 6th Street to celebrate 4 years of rescuing animals. The turn-out was excellent with over 600 friends & supporters in attendance. The event included h’ordeuvres, cocktails as well as a silent auction and live music by Austin’s very own Dale Watson. Also featured were many dogs and cats that are up for adoption as well as a puppy photo booth & handmade screen printed t-shirts! We were very excited to be a part of something truly spectacular!
